"The day I met Canadian rock band Rush. Not a band that everyone will know and I probably won’t get many likes but they are one of my favorite bands of all time. When I was young and still living in the UK me and my best mate Nick Mackley used to arrive early at rock gigs hoping to meet our heroes backstage as they arrived in their limousines. So on June 5th 1980 Rush came to the Hammersmith Odeon in London as part of the Permanent Waves Tour. Nick got a photo with Geddy Lee the singer and I got one with the guy who in my opinion is the best drummer in the world Neil Peart. Alex Lifeson the guitar player is also featured. They signed autographs and chatted to us before they went to do their soundcheck. I saw them live a couple of times and as musicians they had no equal. They sadly stopped performing a couple of years ago after being at the top of their game for 40 years. £4.50 for a ticket. Those were the days."
